Girls Night

Since my hubby and I were married I haven’t spent much time with the girls of the Frederick family, alone. We always have big family dinners and I get to hug on my adorable nephew, but sometimes girls night is needed.

Last week my father-in-law, Doug,  ask the girls of the Frederick family if we wanted to go to the Carrie Underwood concert (Thank you Doug!). Megan, my sister-in-law is also from Oklahoma so of course we were in! We had no clue that we would be on the floor, in the very front of section A! This was the second time I saw Carrie, but being this close you could tell she was a true human being. She got teary-eyed when she sang “Temporary Home.” She donated $1 from every ticket to the American Red Cross. She waived at every single little girl wishing to grow up to be just like her. She held up the “I love you” hand sign to a teenage boy in the row behind us who may as well have fainted. She was real. Authentic.

Looking back on the pictures (there is no zoom she was this close) we had a great night. Singing, smiling, taking pictures; here, here and here. The three of us had a great time hanging out, just like girls do. What I took away most from the night is that no matter who you are, just one of the girls or a celebrity, that you have to be exactly you.

So until the Lord miraculously blesses me with amazing vocal chords I will continue singing my my car and leave the preforming up to the pros!

In Him,
Christina
